Abstract The main objectives of this BEPE project are to investigate how the passage of South American artists through the Académie Julian provided gains for their trajectories in terms of insertion in the Parisian artistic field; to identify if the classes in the school's studios contributed to the construction of sociability networks in the French capital and also to analyze if the works of the Argentine, Brazilian and Chilean artists studied dialogue with productions of other students of the institution. To achieve our objectives, our research will focus on the search and analysis of primary sources. Following the temporal cut from 1889 to 1914, we intend to consult administrative documents from the Académie Julian, letters, periodicals and iconographic sources that are located in archives and libraries in Paris. | |
