Abstract

Geotechnologies are a set of extremely effective tools for analyzing the environment and its conditions. Among them, we may highlight Geographic Information Systems (GIS), which enable the integration of data, programs and technologies, and more recently, remotely piloted aircraft (RPAs or drones), which provide images with high resolution and precision for the monitoring and investigation of various environmental phenomena. Erosion is one of these phenomena, having important effects on the characteristics of the landscape, but whose impacts can be minimized through the regeneration of vegetation. In this context, the present work aims to identify and analyze soil loss in a significantly eroded area in the city of Franca - SP, but which is in the process of regeneration. Thus, using very high resolution images obtained by drones, along with the application of photogrammetry techniques and the use of GIS (including elevation models and volumetric analysis), the project aims to better understand the different factors that influence the evolution of erosion processes, using the Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) on models created from drone images and compare them with models generated through topographic maps in order to go further with studies on this topic.
