This project addresses the signatures of light localization in two-dimensional atomic systems. 2D systems present a scalar scattering channel, with localization, and a vector scattering channel, with diffusive properties, which allows a direct comparison of the two regimes. In this project we will identify different signatures of localization in these systems, exploring the transmitted profile and the spatial fluctuations of the scattered light.
