Abstract

Stigma is a phenomenon intrinsically related to social, cultural and historically determined aspects, involving systems of domination and power relations in particular contexts. Schizophrenia is one of the types of psychological suffering that is most permeated by stigma, which implies the process of social isolation of subjects considered psychotic and diagnosed as schizophrenic, causing deleterious effects. Our objective with this investigation is to produce an analysis of the advances of the Brazilian Psychiatric Reform (RP) in overcoming the process of stigmatization of subjects considered mentally ill, based on the study of the possible (re)production of stigmas in the context of health equipment Mental. We will use the conceptual approach of Institutional Analysis (IA), through a study of authors and relevant works on such topics, the selection and bibliographic choice carried out previously includes documents and bibliography. The literature survey will include materials that we consider relevant for the discussion of the possible stigmatizing effects surrounding psychological suffering, through a critical analysis of cases known in the literature, and publications to think about the impacts of PR in the field of mental health care . To carry out this investigation, we will use the paper AI modality, which consists of a literature review, through critical analysis of documents and bibliography printed and/or available on the internet, seeking to capture how care practices in institutional health contexts Mental health problems found in the literature can (re)produce stigmas around psychological suffering and the changes produced by the psychiatric reform in Brazilian Mental Health. We found that there is little research and publications in Psychology that present a critical and accurate analysis of the relationship that could be established between the stigma faced by subjects considered psychotic and diagnosed as schizophrenic and mental health establishments, as well as its ethical effects on Brazilian society. . This would indicate the academic relevance of this investigation. The social relevance of the research can be considered based on the observation that the phenomenon of stigmatization permeates the entire social structure. Furthermore, we believe that through this investigation it is possible to provide space for the demystification of the discourse that is built around this form of suffering mental health and promote subsidies to support the fight for a society without mental hospitals.
