Abstract

This research investigates the processes of constitution of black feminist activism in the field of women's health in Brazil. Since the 1980s, various sectors of society have been working to build and expand citizenship rights. Among these collectives, we highlight the black feminist movements that have combined the struggle for women's right to health with the anti-racist struggle, forging practices that affirm articulation with the state in order to influence the formulation of public policies based on human rights. The main aim of the research is to systematise and make visible the trajectories of black feminist activists at the interface between social movements and the state in the area of women's health. Developed through a combination of interviews and documentary research, the study's theoretical interlocutions include the work of Conceição Evaristo, notably the concept of escrevivência, as well as Sueli Carneiro's concept of epistemicide, in order to subsidise the work with memories of life trajectories. The aim is to contribute to the consolidation of black female protagonism at the intersection between social struggles and public policies on women's health in Brazil.
