Abstract

The present project proposes a two-month internship at the Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Aline Smeesters, a specialist in Neo-Latin literature. This internship is part of an ongoing master's research project aimed at translating and annotating the Liber Quartus from the Epigrammaton libri quattuor (1497) by the Neo-Latin Renaissance poet Michael Marullus. The objective of the internship is to identify dialogues between Marullus' work and the rest of the poetic and theoretical production in Latin during the Renaissance. This will be achieved through access to bibliography on Marullus and Neo-Latin literature of the Quattrocento, which is unavailable in Brazil; attending courses and academic events on Neo-Latin literature; and collaborating with researchers from the Belgian institution, specializing in the Renaissance and affiliated with FFLCH/USP. It is expected that these activities will enrich the intertextual reading of the epigrams, influencing translation choices, and enhancing the notes and brief interpretative commentary that will conclude the master's research.
