Abstract

The present study aims to identify scientific evidence of the metacognition implications in the clinical reasoning development in the context of simulated clinical practices. This is a scoping review carried out based on the Institute Joanna Briggs's guidelines (JBI). To construct the research question, the strategy was followed POPULATION - healthcare field students and residents; CONCEPT - clinical reasoning elaborated by means of metacognition; CONTEXT - clinical simulation. Included will be articles and theses that contain the PCC elements, that answer the research question (What are the implications of metacognition in the clinical reasoning development in the context of simulated clinical practices among healthcare field students and residents?), written in English, Portuguese or Spanish, at any time. The research will be carried out on the databases PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, Embase, SciELO.org, LILACS, Oasisbr - IBICT and ProQuest, and the studies included blindly and evaluated by independent researchers. The included studies will be numbered and presented according to the guideline and checklist PRISMA-ScR, in tables and discursive report, and investigated according to the Kirkpatrick model for evidence analysis.
