Abstract

This research intends to look into the collection of Tunica Teixeira, a prestigious sound designer who died in 2019, in order to, through an analysis of her creative procedures, study theatrical sound creation as a whole. We want to investigate the genesis of sound in theater, its mechanisms, and the impacts of its existence within the scenic event, in order to supply the growing and necessary research in the field of theatrical soundology and, thus, help to build bases for the establishment of a sound study methodology in shows. The methodological line begins in terms of the Process Criticism, engendered by the Brazilian researcher Cecília Almeida Salles to, later, seek to deepen the specifically theatrical Genetic Criticism, led by the French Marie-Madeleine Mervant-Roux.
