Abstract

This project concerns narrative research, with a theoretical-practical study, whose methodology is qualitative data collection about stories, emphasizing the theme of sports culture for black youth. With this, it aims to identify, in a state school in the interior of the State of São Paulo, the ways in which young black women relate to sports culture, involving not only the practice, but other factors that encompass the process of their subjectivation. Thus, the objective is to have some specificities: to analyze, through the narratives of the adolescents interviewed, how adolescence is present in their lives, considering the intersections between race, gender, class and sexuality. Furthermore, investigate how social markers impact the way these adolescents appropriate sports culture in their subjectivation process; discuss the psychosocial impacts of racism on the subjectivity of black adolescents, and how sports culture can provide spaces for confronting racial violence and producing ethnic-racial belonging; reflect on the importance of sports culture for the formation of positive identities of blackness, through elements such as practice, consumption of entertainment, fashion, and other factors that make up culture. Therefore, the project is expected to build critical knowledge about the sporting-cultural contact enjoyed by black youth, demarcating important factors for professional practices in Psychology.
