Abstract

This research project considers the development of new strategies for optimizing problems related to the planning and operation of electrical energy systems. Thus, the proposal addresses several research topics such as the transmission network expansion problem, planning the expansion of electrical energy distribution systems and the reconfiguration of electrical energy distribution systems. In these three problems, the aim is to develop new research topics so that it is possible to improve the optimization process of these problems and that they are applicable to related problems. These topics are related to search space reduction techniques that can be used in classical optimization techniques and metaheuristics, and in the development of new strategies that can beused in metaheuristics. These research proposals aim to develop optimization techniques capable of solving highly complex instances of the three problems mentioned above. This project must be developed as part of a 12-month internship at a research center of excellence abroad.
