Abstract

Primary Immune Regulation Disorders (PIRD) comprise a set of genetic conditions that impact the regulation of the immune system. In the context of pediatric patients, the imbalance in the immune system's defense against pathogens can lead to recurrent infections, autoimmunity, and chronic inflammation. Medical research has identified new PIRD, and understanding these complex conditions is essential. Diagnosis and treatment pose challenges due to their heterogeneity, and the lack of epidemiological data hinders understanding their prevalence. This study aims to describe and characterize the profile of pediatric patients with PIRD treated at the Pedriatic Rheumatology outpatient clinic, affiliated with the Hospital São Paulo of the Escola Paulista de Medicina at the Universidade Federal de São Paulo (EPM-UNIFESP), aiming to contribute to early diagnosis, personalized treatment, and the foundation of health policies. The need for a multidisciplinary approach and continued research is emphasized to advance the understanding of these complex immunomediated conditions, with the goal of improving the quality of life for patients.
