Abstract The scientific dissemination project is linked to the Thematic Project "The University of São Paulo Twin Panel: Research on the Behavior, Health and Well-Being of Twins", which is a joint initiative of professors from psychology, dentistry and medicine at the University of São Paulo. The main objective is to carry out research on the behavior of twins and its relationship with health and well-being, from an ontogenetic perspective. The Thematic Project consists of 13 research subprojects in which sociodemographic and self-reported data, behavioral data and physical and physiological measures are being collected. The Thematic Project includes a Coordination Section for Education, Knowledge Dissemination and Extension, which is responsible for the science dissemination sub-projects and the extension activities that include psychological and dental treatment offered by the Clinical Branch of the USP Twins Panel and the Dental Branch. With the approval of the project under the Call for Proposals for Communicating Science, the two fellows will be responsible for producing three science communication outputs during the six-month fellowship period, which will consist of a written report using visual resources (infographics and photography). The 1st scientific dissemination product proposed deals with the early development of twins (fetal and perinatal). Data from the HCFMUSP Twin Registry and ultrasound images of twin fetuses will be used. The 2nd dissemination product proposed deals with the development of twin children born at HCFMUSP, focusing on the period between 7 and 12 years of age, taking into account their initial characteristics. We have data on the physical and behavioral development of children who are receiving dental care at the FOUSP Pediatric Dentistry Clinic and participating in research. The 3rd product will historically contextualize the role played by the USP Panel of Twins, the only active registry in South America, according to a survey carried out by the International Society for Twin Studies. The students will have access to data from the registry. They will also have access to the academic production and scientific dissemination structure of the thematic project. We proposed a report on the history of productions and contributions of the USP Twins Panel, expanding beyond the academic environment the scope of the scientific work produced and the importance and innovation of intra- and interdisciplinary studies of twin development in the psychological, medical and dental fields in Brazil. We have presented a variety of options within these three themes, anticipating that choices regarding the distribution of the content will be made later, including guidance and mentoring from journalists and communicators from the Canal Futura Team. Dissemination will take place through Canal Futura's multimedia channels (website, social networks, FRM portal, Canal Futura, Midiateca). We also have the Website, Facebook and Instagram of the USP Twins Panel. | |
