Abstract

This research project aims to identify the perceptions and memories of the community around the Avaré's railway set (Avaré is a city localized in Brazil, more specifically in São Paulo state), in order to verify that they are considered in the municipal management of the heritage. The establishment of the complex occurred in a context of coffee expansion and interior occupation - since the area was considered "the area that occupation and civilization ended" until then. The presence of the railway in the city allowed a development for the municipality, being of extreme importance for the History of Avaré and for all who had contacts and links with this form of material heritage. In order for the predetermined objective to be achieved, interviews will be conducted using the Oral History methodology with individuals who are related in some way to this railway heritage; In addition, there will be further analysis of the acquired data.
