Abstract

The reactivity of enamines formed in situ acting as nucleophiles in Michael additions with nitroolefins as electrophiles will be evaluated using competition experiments. In order to measure the influence of electronic effects of the aromatic substituents of the nitroolefins will be substituted at the para-position. In the aldehyde, aliphatic substituents with different steric sizes will be evaluted. Linear Free Energy Relationships (LFER) will be obtained based on the ratio of products formed. Also, we wish to find correlations between LFER found and the stereoselectivity of the process.
