Abstract

This work aims to compare the physical and mechanical properties (color stability; roughness; microhardness and sorption and solubility) between the resin disc for CAD-CAM (Vasden) and acrylic resins thermopolymerized by water (Lucitone) and micro- waves (Vipi-Dent) after the influence of thermocycling and disinfection media. Such samples will be made in two different ways: the resin disc for CAD-CAM will be milled into 50 samples of 3mm thick and 10mm in diameter, while the Lucitone and Vipi-Dent resin samples will be made according to their respective proportions. powder and liquid indicated by their manufacturers and in a metal matrix with dimensions 64x10x3mm containing 10 circles for making samples of 10mm in diameter and 3mm in thickness each. 50 samples will be made for each resin, totaling 150 samples. All samples will be tested for color change, roughness, microhardness and sorption and solubility, before and after thermocycling, followed by storage with disinfection. Disinfection will be done with Efferdent; chlorhexidine 4%; 1% sodium hypochlorite; microwave energy and neutral soap. In this way, each resin group will be subdivided into 5 groups of 10 samples for each type of disinfectant. Thermocycling will be carried out for 2,000 cycles, with alternating baths of 60 seconds at 5±1°C and 55±1°C, representing a clinical time of approximately 2 years of use of the prosthesis. The results will be tabulated and subsequently subjected to normality tests, so that statistical analysis can be carried out using the ideal tests.
