Abstract

Emotional intelligence, defined as the ability to perceive, use, understand, and manage emotions, has been widely studied by researchers over the past 30 years. The relationship between emotional intelligence and aggressive behavior has been investigated in various studies; however, it is still scarce in the Brazilian context. Thus, the aim of this research is to verify the relationship between emotional intelligence and aggressive behavior in the context of childhood. For this purpose, the "Peer Aggressive and Reactive Behaviors Questionnaire (Q-CARP)" and the "Emotional Intelligence Test for Children (TIEC - Short Version)" will be administered to fifth-grade students from public schools in São Carlos. Additionally, teachers will complete a questionnaire about their perception of aggressive behavior in their participating students. After data collection, descriptive and inferential statistics will be conducted to verify the research objectives.
