Abstract

This postdoctoral project aims to produce a corpus of records of myths and songs of Jamamadi of the upper Purus. Recording, in audio and video, mythical narrations and indigenous music, and producing transcriptions and translations, are also objectives of this project. This research continues the conclusions of the Phd, to mean, the myths and their narratives with local indigenous relations, through non-demarcated Indigenous Lands, and the expansion of the agricultural frontier. The myths and their narrations point to a new analytical plan to be explored and developed, such as their utterance uses, and the distinctions of their contextual spellings. Furthermore, it is necessary to deepen the hypothesis, already consolidated by the ethnological tradition, of the transformations that their stories show between indigenous societies, in their linguistic separations, but in continuity in the american continent, in this case, for the Arawa and other indigenous people of the region. There is, therefore, with this research, a theoretical and political contribution to valuing indigenous language, history and imagination.
