Abstract

The main objective of the project is to perform a comparative analysis of adopters and non-adopters of digital technologies for managing soybean production in the state of São Paulo. The specific objectives are: i) to describe the characteristics of Digital Agriculture (DA) technologies adopted by soybean farmers; ii) to compare managerial, behavioral, structural, institutional and human/social capital variables between adopters and non-adopters of these technologies. Primary microdata collected from 150 soybean farms in the state of São Paulo will be used. Descriptive statistics and non-parametric statistical hypothesis tests will be used to compare the characteristics of adopters and non-adopters of digital technologies. Cluster analysis and/or multiple correspondence methodologies and econometric regression models may also be applied. The expected results are: (i) systematization, organization and descriptive analysis of a database of soybean farms in the state of São Paulo. (ii) Description of characteristics of adopters and non-adopters of digital technologies for management of soybean production in the state of São Paulo. (iii) Description of characteristics of digital technologies adopted by soybean farmers.
