Abstract

The exposome includes all the exposures an individual faces throughout life, including chemical, biological agents, radiation, and psychosocial factors. These exposures significantly affect the skin and hair, compromising the skin's barrier function and the integrity of the hair fiber. In this context, the concept of skin signification has expanded the traditional approach to skin care to include the scalp, applying the same treatment principles and facial care ingredients to hair care. Vegetable oils are promising ingredients due to their emollient and antioxidant properties, which help maintain the health and nutrition of the skin and scalp, as well as smooth the hair surface, improving its appearance. Therefore, the application of oil extracted from the babassu seed (Orbignya oleifera) through a sustainable process in the development of cosmetic formulations can result in innovative, effective products that highlight Brazilian biodiversity. Thus, this study proposes to develop cosmetic formulations for skin and hair containing babassu oil, as well as to evaluate the rheological behavior, texture profile, sensory properties, and clinical efficacy of these formulations through advanced biophysical and image analysis techniques.
