Abstract

This project proposes a 5-month research internship (December/2024 - April/2025) at the Laboratoire d'Anthropologie Sociale (LAS), a Joint Research Unit (UMR 7130) based in Paris (France). During this period, I will be developing a bibliographical research associated with my master's research, which investigates the social construction of suffering in vocational high school courses in São Paulo. The field material was collected from teachers and students at a public school, located in a peripheral region of the city, with the aim of understanding the expressive forms and languages mobilized by young people to socially transmit their subjective experiences related to mental suffering. At LAS, the in-depth theoretical bibliographical research will benefit from the rich resources of the Claude Lévi-Strauss Library, while part of the data analysis and dissertation writing will be supervised by Marika Moisseeff who, with Michael Houseman, Director of Studies at the École Pratique des Hautes Études, organizes study days as part of a workshop entitled Nouvelles Formes de Médiation relationnelle, which will allow me to take advantage of the works presented in the field of anthropology, youth and the life cycle.
