Abstract

Addressing Alzheimer's disease (AD) requires a multifaceted approach. Understanding how environmental risk factors like air pollution and changes in the gut microbiome relate to AD is crucial, and it is the current subject from Professor Masashi Kitazawa lab. This subject promises not only insights into the neurotoxic mechanisms of disease progression but also points to potential preventative strategies and treatments. In this FAPESP-Internship program, we propose 4 Month's stay in Prof. Kitazawa lab, working with an in vivo experimental model of AD submitted to conditions such air pollution, studying changes in brain pathologies from these model mice using various techniques including immunostaining, immunoblotting and ELISA.
