Abstract

The use of asset traceability solutions for different supply chains, based on Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), is already a reality, with several solutions in commercial operation, many of which are developed to meet the demands of the agricultural sector (Marino et al., 2019). Most solutions focus on the management of physical and logical assets and the issuance of cryptographic certificates at different stages of the chain. Recently, initiatives incorporating the use of IoT devices have been observed, enabling greater reliability of collected data (EU Blockchain). The next evolutionary step in decentralized asset traceability solutions will be the incorporation of a business layer, that is, a transactional model that will use smart contracts to support payment transactions, issuance, and settlement of cryptographic tokens in a fully decentralized manner, aligning with Web 3.0 and the tokenization of the economy (Voshmgir, 2020). This work plan aims to develop this business layer on a traceability solution for an agribusiness production chain in Agro-technological areas , seeking greater autonomy, security, and reliability for emerging digital markets in chains of small and medium-sized rural producers, especially for those linked to high-value-added product chains.
