Abstract

Platelet-rich plasma has been widely used in equine medicine, mainly for the treatment of injuries to muscles, tendons and ligaments, and, in reproduction, for the treatment of endometritis. It is a source, generally autologous, of growth factors and molecules that participate in the modulation of inflammation and tissue repair. However, systemic and local changes caused by the inflammatory process itself are potential causes of changes in the use of autologous PRP. The objective of this study is to evaluate the systemic and local oxidative response, by obtaining platelet-rich plasma and uterine fluid, respectively, at two different moments (pre and post AI) from mares with and without endometritis. 20 cycles of mares will be used, divided into two groups: Control (n=10; cycles without signs of endometritis) and Endometritis (n=10; cycles where there are signs of the presence of intrauterine fluid and/or exacerbated edema). The oxidative stress (T-Bars) of PRP and intrauterine fluid prepared or collected 24 hours before AI (M0; that is, at the time of induction) and 24 hours after AI (M1) will be evaluated in both groups. Furthermore, to evaluate acute inflammation, a fluorescent immunoassay will be performed for quantitative detection of equine amyloid A serum at the following times: immediately before AI, 6 hours after AI, 12 hours after AI, 18 hours after AI and 24 hours after AI. the AI.
