Abstract

Decolonial feminist movements, such as peripheral and/or Latin American feminisms, subvert the hegemonic white-centered and neoliberal logic by presenting intersectionality and ancestry as central elements in their analyses and actions. Similarly, they re-signify and re-establish relationships and spaces, such as the kitchen, which is socially represented as a locus of servitude. Community kitchens can become spaces of struggle and care among women, distancing themselves from the place of submission, and are envisioned as commons that are fundamental in the construction of identities, resistances, and affections in the face of hegemonic structures that individualize and brutalize human relationships. Thus, this research aims to understand how women involved in community kitchens of social movements narrate their experiences of struggle, support, and care in relation to these spaces. To achieve this, semi-structured individual interviews will be conducted with these women, in the form of narratives, guided by questions regarding: a) the experiences of women in collective kitchens concerning gender issues; b) daily life in the kitchen and what it means to occupy this space; c) relationships with other women in the group, as well as the forms of support and care that are woven among them. The intention is to gather insights to develop care strategies for women, reflecting on health work through feminist and decolonial perspectives.
