Abstract

The project "Reputation Building for FGV-Cidades: Center for Innovation in Urban Public Policies" aims to strengthen the reputation of FGV-Cidades as a center of excellence in research and innovation for urban policies. Strategic communication will serve as the main pillar for disseminating its research results and establishing FGV-Cidades as a reference in the development of innovative, evidence-based urban public policies. The communication plan covers both scientific dissemination and organizational communication, targeting various audiences such as the academic community, public managers, decision-makers, private sector partners, and the general public. To achieve this, specific content will be created for each audience, distributed across multiple channels, including the institutional website, social media, newsletters, and podcasts.Key tasks of the project include:Development of a communication plan: Defining information flows, channels, and content validation mechanisms to ensure the quality of transmitted information;Creation of communication products and channels for different audiences: Specific channels will be established for public managers, researchers, and the general public, along with a clear editorial policy for each;Production of content on research and events: Communication will be adapted into various formats, such as infographics and video interviews, to make the results more accessible and understandable;Establishing relationships with the press: Aims to expand the recognition of FGV-Cidades' work, promoting its spokespersons as key figures in discussions on urban policies;Training researchers: Conducting media training to prepare researchers for clear and assertive interactions with the media;Promoting engagement with journalists: Organizing classes and workshops to bring the press closer to the topics addressed by FGV-Cidades.Expected outcomes include increased visibility and recognition of FGV-Cidades' research, leading to expanded media coverage in both traditional and digital outlets, and stronger engagement between researchers and society. Success metrics include the number of published reports and articles, social media engagement, and the impact of communication strategies on the adoption of innovative public policies.Through these actions, FGV-Cidades aims to positively influence the formulation of urban public policies, contributing to the reduction of inequalities and improving the quality of life in cities, especially for the most vulnerable populations living in urban peripheries.
