Abstract

Census data regarding access to Brazilian healthcare services indicate that access to and utilization of healthcare services are influenced by gender relations and other social indicators, such as race and class. Therefore, the work of the psychology discipline within these services should address broader demands related specifically to gender issues, such as combating violence and promoting equity. Considering that working with groups in the context of Primary Health Care (PHC) services has proven to be an important asset for Psychology professionals, it is clear that work with women's groups is increasingly prevalent in healthcare services, requiring greater theoretical and technical preparation from psychologists working in this area. Through qualitative field research, this project aims to analyze countertransference phenomena in female psychologists who work with women's groups, gathering data from semi-structured interviews conducted with these professionals and using discourse analysis as the method for analyzing the collected data, which will be interpreted through the psychoanalytic theory of the English school. The goal is to understand some of the main impacts generated in the development of the work due to the psychological transference established between patients and professionals who identify with the same gender, contributing to the scientific field and encouraging further research on psychological transferential phenomena that also take into account social indicators of difference in the development of Psychological work.
