Abstract

Thermal alterations inside and outside the human body are a risk factor for individuals with epilepsy, a neurological condition characterized by abnormal electrical discharges in the brain. This work aims to evaluate the use of non-invasive environmental and body temperature sensors to help in the monitoring of epileptic seizures, making it possible for users and health professionals to identify this risk factor and enabling them to take preventative measures. In addition, the incorporation of this measurement into the EpyBand project seeks to improve the functionality for monitoring and predicting epileptic seizures, integrating different technologies for analyzing biological signals in real time, as well as software for data fusion. Through collaboration between the Aerotech Laboratory, the Thermal Engineering and Fluids Laboratory - LETeF, and the Hospital das Clínicas de Ribeirão Preto (HCFMRP), the project has a broad support network for its implementation, organized into a monthly schedule for execution.
