Abstract

The advancement of sustainable technologies and the growing demand for highly energy-efficient materials, such as superconductors, are the central motivation for this project, which seeks to understand the behavior of three-dimensional two-band superconductors and the dynamics of vortices in systems with defects that vary in geometry, nature and arrangement. The research will also examine the interaction of these systems with transport currents and external magnetic fields. The description of the system will be based on the time-dependent Ginzburg-Landau (GL) theory. Two main approaches from microscopic derivation will be considered, one of them incorporating Josephson coupling between the bands without expanding the theory in higher powers of the reduced temperature, and another with which expansions in higher orders of reduced temperature will be considered to obtain the physical observables. However, this last GL approach lacks time dependence, making direct comparisons between the theories difficult. Therefore, this work also aims to develop a time-dependent formulation of the extended GL theory, filling this gap and allowing a more complete analysis of the interactions between the bands. (AU)
