Abstract

The use of organic synthesis in the preparation of natural products is of great interest, often due to the complexity of these compounds, their low availability in nature, and the potential of their applications across various scientific fields. For this reason, organic chemists work on developing new methods, frequently drawing inspiration from nature itself, to achieve such compounds. Thus, the aim of this project is to carry out allylic oxidation reactions in a chemoselective fashion on complex ent-labdane structures, with the goal of synthesizing natural products. Despite the extensive literature on allylic oxidations, no systematic studies are known regarding chemoselectivity in diterpenes containing more than one site of unsaturation. Therefore, it is proposed that such a study be conducted. (AU)
