Abstract

Recent studies have shown conductive heating in a closed vessel (CHDS) as an efficient method for sample digestion. Its comparison with other practices that use open vials shows a more effective decomposition, minimization of interferences resulting from the matrix, during the analyses, and reduction of the detection limit. In this context, there is a need for research that optimizes the process of digestion of samples in equipment equipped with this technology. At the same time, there is a growing concern today regarding the bioaccumulation of chemical elements in aquatic fauna (e.g. arsenic, cadmium, copper, chromium, mercury, lead, nickel and zinc), which directly impacts the population, which, in addition to contributing to the improper disposal of these elements in aquatic spheres, contributes significantly to the fishing industry, fostering the problem and global health. Thus, the project aims to analyze fish samples, studying conditions that allow the optimization of the preparation of this sample with high organic content in order to reiterate the reliability of the elemental determination by ICP OES, after digestion in the "Simplify Digestor", developed by Vert Technologies, São Paulo, Brazil, a startup supported by the PIPE-FAPESP project. This system will be used to explore digestion procedures with dilute acids, an important trend, which is allied to the principles of green chemistry. Samples of certified reference materials (CRM), reference materials produced in the advisor's laboratory and from CETESB will be used for the optimization and validation of the developed methodology.
