Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of processes and technologies in the treatment of polluted water. The proposed model combines coagulation/flocculation followed by the application of hydrodynamic cavitation combined with hydrogen peroxide. The analysis focuses on the removal of organic and inorganic compounds, based on physicochemical parameters, including chemical oxygen demand (COD), turbidity, color, pH, and UV-Vis spectrophotometry. The relevance of this study is grounded in current issues, such as the climate emergency and the growing scarcity of natural resources, especially water. Increasingly, it becomes essential to treat waste and reuse previously utilized materials to achieve process sustainability and promote continuous improvements. Thus, the study is directed toward alternatives capable of addressing this complex problem, with the aim of identifying the most efficient and sustainable treatment methods.
