Abstract

Landscape and ecosystem restoration is a complex process that involves promoting sustainable land use practices for the conservation of biodiversity, ecosystem services, and overall human well-being. However, due to limited resources, it is essential to develop efficient methods for prioritizing restoration efforts. Decision-making techniques based on multi-criteria modeling offer a robust framework for integrating multiple indicators and stakeholder preferences to identify high-priority areas. This project aims to develop a multi-criteria spatial modeling approach that combines ecological and socioeconomic indicators to prioritize areas for landscape and ecosystem restoration in the state of São Paulo. The proposed approach will be adaptive and automated, allowing decision-makers to make choices based on spatially explicit and up-to-date information.
