Abstract

The project aims to revisit aspects of the history of Brazilian children's literature, between the end of the 19th century and the 70s of the 20th century, in order to understand the characteristics of its development as an artistic-literary phenomenon and as a cultural and educational phenomenon closely linked to the of mass acculturation. It is based on theoretical-methodological assumptions of research in History, through the use of procedures for locating, retrieving, gathering, selecting, ordering and analyzing documentary sources related to literature for children in circulation in Brazil in the aforementioned period. It is intended to carry out a survey of these books, compare aspects related to their constitution, analyze the most representative children's literature books of this revisited history and provide a research instrument for related research.
