Abstract

The aim of this study is the determination of the ages of archaeological ceramic fragments from sites located in the middle Rio Negro basin, between the towns of Moura and Barcelos (AM), using the LOE and TL techniques. The results will be correlated with archaeological studies already carried out at the sites. To this end, around 20 samples of ceramics collected, in general, on river terraces in the middle Rio Negro will be analyzed. The XRD technique will also be used to determine the classes of minerals present in the samples, as well as to check for possible contamination of the ceramics by the antiplastic (cauixi) used to make them. The ages of the ceramics will be determined by both LOE and TL in order to enable a comparison between the methods. In addition, a more detailed study will be carried out on the effect of cauixi (amorphous silica) on the responses obtained by LOE and TL. TL and LOE emissions will be analyzed using general order kinetic fitting models. (AU)
