Abstract

Temporal parallax as a historical concept and characteristic aligns with the most recent discussions in the broad field of theory and philosophy of history, the "New Metaphysics of Historical Time". Furthermore, the complexity of temporal parallax results in an extremely important critical tool that ends up going beyond epistemology, that is, temporal parallax proposes new ways of conceiving historical temporality, a temporal, political and social reorganization. Thus, the project in question aims to investigate the scope of parallax in relation to the "New Metaphysics of Historical Time", more specifically Koselleckian multitemporality and, at the same time, verify the hypotheses of a contribution of temporal parallax to the composition of a critical multitemporality especially focused on post-colonial theory. To do this, it will be necessary to thoroughly investigate the concept of temporal parallax through the works of Slavoj ¿i¿ek, as well as multitemporality from Reinhart Koselleck and, consequently, identify the formation of multitemporality by theorists such as Helge Jordheim, Stefan Helgesson, Marek Tamm, Zoltán Simon and Achim Landwehr. In this case, Helgesson presents himself as an extremely important piece, as it is through his work that we can identify the formation of a critical multitemporality, included by post-colonial theory. In short, this project aims to investigate the relationship between temporal parallax, multitemporality and critical multitemporality.
