Abstract

The term geoarchaeology is commonly used to represent the use of traditional applications and the development of new geoscientific applications for archaeological purposes. Above all, geosciences have become an indispensable counterpart to archaeology and cultural heritage management. Regarding the investigation of past archaeological landscapes and paleoenvironments, modern archaeology increasingly crosses academic boundaries, combining different new methodologies to answer research questions about ancient cultures and their remains.The thematic and methodological overlap of the humanities, natural sciences, and computational sciences is the core subject of this undergraduate research project (iniciação científica). Computationally engaged research has become the absolute state of the art in modern archaeology, geoscientific landscape reconstructions, and the deciphering of spatio-temporal interactions between humans and nature. In archaeology, the neologism 'Artereality' designates certain guiding principles that could contribute to jointly repositioning artistic practice closer to the center of contemporary knowledge (Shanks 2009).With this in mind, microscopic imagery and reality capture using advanced digital techniques allow for approaches such as Art. Thus, closer collaboration and dialogue between disciplines will offer promising perspectives for future research on the human-environment interface. Spatial archaeology and geospatial analysis; the geodesign of ancient cities; archaeometric and geoarchaeological data (Siart, Forbriger, Bubenzer 2018); digital data and digital archaeology (Huvila 2014; Forte, Murteira 2020); and perspectives and approaches from the anthropology of architecture and heritage are the instruments of this research.
