Abstract

The main goal of this project is to develop studies in the field of relativistic heavy ions participating in two major experiments in this field: the STAR experiment at RHIC and the ALICE experiment at the LHC. More specifically, studies of reaction global parameters will be studied in the framework of thermal and hydrodynamic models applied to existing STAR data at RHIC energies and prediction to the LHC energy range. We hope with this study to extract information such as non-homogeneous initial conditions and reaction evolution dynamics of the new state of matter that was confirmed to be discovered at RHIC, the Quark Gluon Plasma or the strongly interacting QGP. Moreover, with this project, we hope to enhance the collaboration between the experimental and the theoretical groups working in this field here in Brazil, for the Pos-Doc candidate comes from a strong theory group in Rio de Janeiro to work in our group which is involved in the STAR and ALICE experiments. Data analysis and software development as well as participation in the new ALICE experiment is also included in the future responsibilities of the pos-doc. (AU)
