Abstract

Phytotoxicity in soybean seedlings can be caused by seed treatment and it can be also influenced by seed vigor. This study has as objective to evaluate the development of soybean seedlings as affected by seed chemical treatment and vigor. The first part of the experiment, for field production, soybean seeds of the cultivar Conquista were sown in two months (November and December); for each one of them, seeds were harvested in three periods (1, 7 and 14 days after physiological maturity), resulting in seeds with six vigor levels. Right after harvest, moisture content will be evaluated previously to storing seeds in dry chamber. Seed physiological quality will be evaluated by germination and vigor tests, before and after chemical treatment with different active ingredients. The experimental design will be the completely randomized, with four replications, analyzed as a factorial 14 x 6 (product x vigor level). Means will be compared by the Tukey test (Pd0.05). The Dunnet test (Pd0.05) will compare each mean value after chemical treatment to a control (with no treatment). Data will also be compared by the linear correlation test.
