Abstract

The turbulent transport is the main cause of the particles lost at the magnetically confined plasma edge and, nowadays, there are evidences that this transport presents universal characteristics with structures that contribute significantly to this transport. Thus, we will experimentally investigate the plasma edge turbulence in tokamaks and stellarators to characterize these structures and determine their dependence on the equilibrium parameters, in order to obtain scaling laws and verify the influence of external perturbations on these structures. Moreover, with these results we will verify theoretical predictions proposed by other group researchers about wave coupling and particle transport. For this investigation we will analyze fluctuating turbulence data from the tokamaks TCABR (IFUSP) and CASTOR (Czech Republic), and the stellarator TJ-II (Spain). These non-stationary fluctuations will be submitted to the wavelet linear and quadratic (bispectral) spectral analyze. Their characteristics will be described by their probability distribution functions and correlations, as well as the shape and recurrence of their intermittent bursts. (AU)
