Abstract

This research has as objective to make a comparative analysis of the satisfaction level and envolvement of the inhabitants of two outlying areas in two different cities located in the state of São Paulo, being that in one of them, in the city of Lins, the public administration uses the participativo budget (OP), as a tool for the direct democracy, in order to grant to the citizens biggest access to the information, involving them in the process of taking of decisions; whereas the other, the city of Agudos, does not use in its administration the OP. The searched quarters possess similar characteristics as number of inhabitants, infrastructure, income of the inhabitants, localization in the city, numbers of schools and ranks of health, among others. The cities had been selected taking themselves in consideration if the public administration uses or not it OP. To carry through the research an ample bibliographical revision on the subject will be made, will be applied closed questionnaires and interviews opened for posterior analysis and will be made the accompaniment of the meetings of the OP in the city of Lins, as well as the accompaniment of the meetings of the association of quarters of Agudos. In this way, it is intended to know the reality of life of the inhabitants of the searched quarters identifying the trustworthiness that this population presents in relation its governing.
