Abstract

The research has the intent to study the process of theatre creation in the spectacle "Memória da Cana", staged by the brasilian group OS FOFOS ENCENAM, directed by Newton Moreno, which openned at the group seat in june of 2009, in wich I have participated as a dramaturgist.The play is an adaptation of "Álbum de Família" by Nelson Rodrigues, through studies from the book "Casa-Grande e Senzala" by Gilberto Freyre and from the actors' memories.This work intends to interpret the process which lasted about two years, emphasizing the theoricals and practicals relations between the colective memory, presents in Gilberto Freyre's work, and the actors' memories.The main focus is the process of creation, in so far as there is a lot of exercises, scenes, histories and researches that have appeared and have been developted during the time of work. Besides, supported by a bibliography display, there is the objective to make deeper some concepts about memory and dispose its use during the process, to understand better which are the paramaters that involves it, and also to investigate possibles interpretations of this human faculty in a theatre creation.
