Since 2007, LAPAC - Laboratory of Automation and Prototyping for Architecture and Construction, linked to Civil Engineering, Architecture and Urbanism School, FEC, UNICAMP, has developed scientific researches, masters and doctorates in rapid prototyping, used as case studies for new technologies and methodologies development. With the recent acquisition of a numerical control machine (CNC) of 1.80 x 2.80 x 0.15 m, LAPAC starts a new line of research, the digital fabrication, which gives the production possibility of real scale objects and its moulds. In addition, it is also possible to produce relief surfaces using a wide range of materials. This research's purpose is to reproduce pictures in relief (2.5D) so that visually impaired and people with subnormal vision can interact and experience art by touch. The selection of works and materials, as well as the definition of final reproduction sizes are the research's first steps and will reckon on CEPRE - Center for Studies and Researches in Rehabilitation, linked to the Medical School of UNICAMP.
