In vitro evaluation of the apical leakage of MTA Fillapex®, Endo-CPM-Sealer® and Sealapex®

Abstract

The aim of this study will be to evaluate the apical sealability of MTA Fillapex®, Endo-CPM-Sealer® e Sealapex®two root canal filling techniques. Thirty-four (34) single root teeth freshly extracted will be used. The teeth will be submitted to radiographic evaluation to confirm the existence of a single and straight root canal. The crowns will be sectioned and the root canals were instrumented using Protaper Universal and sodium hypochlorite as irrigant. The teeth will be randomly divided in groups of 10 teeth each according to the sealer. Four more teeth will be used as control. The root canals will be filled using single cone technique and the sealers. The teeth will be submitted to dye leakage using the Rhodamine B for 24 hours, using vaccum on the initial 15 minutes. The teeth will be cut longitudinally and the leakage measured in a linear fashion from apex to crown. The data will be analyzed using ANOVA and Tukey's tests.
