Abstract

Epidemiological and clinical-dermatological evolution of Jorge Lobo's disease (lobomycosis) among Caiabi Indians. From 418 cases of this mycosis described in the literature, 60 occurred in Caiabi Indians, a central Brazil tribe that constitutes an uninhabited concentration. These cases were diagnosed after 1965/66 and have been followed up since then. The epidemiological aspects, along with the clinical-dermatological review of the cases under observation, a survey of the causes of death among those who died, and evaluation of the treatment, drugs and surgery will be carried out; field material will be collected for laboratory exams and the cases photography documentation will be taken for comparative study.
