Abstract

This project provides two sets of actions: one that allows the continuation of a personal investigative process on the Russian cinema. Here this action is raised through the work of Russian filmmakers Sergei Eisenstein, Andrei Tarkovsky and Alexander Sokurov. Another set of actions is associated with the formation of a research group about cinematism on the arts. The research is associated at the postgraduates studies in Russian literature and culture of the DLO/FFLCH/USP. These sets of actions intended to further the research on the Eisenstein film conception as language and the cinematism concept for to test the relevance of these on the Russian arts (film and video, performing arts, visual arts and literature) in contemporary times. To this end it is proposed activities, bibliography, procedures and trials to develop research capacity - as demonstrated by graduate students in the discipline of contemporary Russian cinema offered in the postgraduate programme in 2009 - a broad field that foster the creation of methodologies for the study of languages confluent and expand research on imbrication of culture and art in contemporary Russia. The research aims to contribute to theoretical and experimental proposals that are integrated into the investigative process, the translation and updated notes of unpublished texts of the filmmaker and the organization of a collection of information on areas surveyed in home-page. This project will also incorporate the academic activities provided by the newly created LERUSS - Studies Russians Russkiy Mir Laboratory, with the DLO/FFLCH/USP.
