Abstract

The growth and characterization of doped and not doped diamond film micro- and nano-structured on carbon substrates as composite electrodes is proposed to be used as hybrid anode for lithium ion battery and supercapacitor. The carbon fibers produced from PAN treated at different temperatures of 1000, 1500 and 2000 ºC and also other temperatures will be the main porous carbon substrates utilized to grow diamond film nanostructured and/or microstructured. The Raman spectroscopy, scattering electron microscopy, transmission electron spectroscopy and also X-ray diffraction will be used to characterize the quality, morphology and structure of these composites sp2-sp3. The electrochemical behavior of these electrodes will be analyzed by cyclic voltammetry, charge/discharge plots and impedance spectroscopy. This work introduce an important and fundamental study in the sp2-sp3 composites with technological application in the search of alternative energy source combining the supercapacitor function and Li+ ions battery working simultaneous in an electrochemical cell as hybrid electrode with high energy density. This study will be done gradually focusing on the characterization techniques and giving to the society an application with great impact. (AU)
