Abstract

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is very prevalent in our country and in the world. One of the therapies that have better results, specially in quality of life, is the kidney transplantation. Cardiovascular diseases are very frequent in CKD patients and constitute the major cause of mortality in renal transplant recipients with functioning grafts. Cardiac arrhythmias are 2nd cause of mortality in this population. Risk factors such as left ventricular hypertrophy, coronary calcification, electrolytic disorder, renal dysfunction and use of immunossupression drugs, has been associated to the development of cardiac arrhythmias. The aim of this study is evaluate the prevalence and the associated factors of cardiac arrhythmias in renal transplant recipients. Patients will be submitted to laboratorial tests, echocardiogram, computed tomography (for evaluate coronary calcification) and 24hs electrocardiography. (AU)
