Abstract

The subject of this research project is concerned with the study of control and stability analysis methods of dynamical systems. The main strategy to be used is based on the construction of Lyapunov functions in order to obtain analysis and design conditions described mainly in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Specifically, the following problems will be addressed: synthesis of robust PID controllers aimed at possible applications in chemical industrial processes, filtering and control of time-delayed systems, linear systems with parametric uncertainty and non-linear elements (saturation, backlash, hysteresis, etc).
