Abstract

The stress distribution on the dentine/adhesive interface through bidimensional finite element analysis (FEA) has not been established for the self-etching adhesive system, as well as the influence of various hybrid layer (HL) thickness and TAGs length can establish. Furthermore, there are not data about oblique loading, once the mechanical and micromechanical tests have considered only perpendicular traction load. By this way, the purpose of this study is to analyze, through bidiomensional FEA, the stress distribution on the dentin substrate considering two thickness for HL (3 ou 6 µm), two lengths for TAGs (13 ou 17 µm), and two loading conditions (perpendicular and oblique to vertical plane-25o). MATERIAL AND METHOD: 5 models will be elaborated in the AutoCAD 2007 program, forming 5 groups (G): G1 – A specimen in dentin (38 x 41 µm) without any conditioning procedure and restored with a composite resin (CR); G2 – similar to G1, with 3 µm layer for HL and 13 µm for TAG length; G3 – similar to G2, with 3 µm for HL and 17 µm for TAG; G4 – similar to G2, with 6 µm for HL and 13 µm for TAG; and G5 – similar to G2, with 6 µm for HL and 17 µm for TAG. The models will be considered isotropic, linearly elastic and homogenous. The numerical analysis will be performed by Ansys 10.0, with two loading conditions: C1 - 20N perpendicular to CR surface and C2 – 20N oblique (25º) to CR surface. RESULTS: The results will be analyzed under von Mises equivalent stresses criterion and major principal stress. The general and specifics tension maps will be obtained for each structure, emphasizing the dentin/adhesive interface. (AU)
