Abstract

This project focuses on the study and implementation of linear controllers whose feedback gains are obtained from FRFs (Frequency Response Functions) of the system. This approach represents an improvement when compared to the classical methods of gain calculation, based on mathematical models of the system, because errors and uncertainties in the model are not taken into account. Therefore, one achieves a controller more robust to strucutre/environment changes. For that, the theories of Machine Dynamics, Mechanical Vibration and Control Systems will be studied, by applying them to examples of mechanical systems with one or more degrees-of-freedom. The areas of Programming and Numerical Methods are also involved, due to the numerical implementation of the control technique in the beginning of the project. It is expected at the end of the project that the control technique in study be completely known, with experimental results in test rig.
